2022 UniSA Placement Requests: Aged Care Placements

Thank you for taking the time to complete the 2022 UniSA Placement Requests: Aged Care Placements survey.

This survey tool enables you to inform the UniSA Clinical Placement Unit of your organisation's/facility's capacity to provide aged care placements to our 1st year Bachelor of Nursing students, undertaking the NURS1071 ELA: OLDER Adults Practicum 2 placement course.

The 2022 placement blocks for this practicum are scheduled as follows:

NURS 1071: Older Adults Practicum 2 placement course: (NEW SCHEDULE 1st year cohort)

 Block 1: 4/10/2022 - 30/10/2022

 Block 2: 14/11/2022 - 11/12/2022

The aim of this placement course is to enable students to demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes in the provision of nursing care to the older adult population.

This course is a four (4) week (160 hour) placement in an aged care setting that provides health care for the older adult population.

This is the first clinical placement in the nursing program. Students have previously undertaken 11 weeks of practice in an on-campus simulated clinical environment.

Students may be rostered over 24 hours and 7 days a week at venue discretion, are full mask fit tested and can work in Covid positive areas.

Students are supernumerary and must be provided with time to meet with the Clinical Facilitator as well as time to orientate to the clinical setting and patient/client population.
